About Me
Perhaps you have heard the phrase, “the person who thinks they can and the person who thinks they can’t are both right.” This modified quote by Confucius is based in both quantum and metaphysics and I’d love to share the way in which I use the concepts within these fields to help you transform your life into the one you see in your dreams.

I am Dr. Marissa Maclin, a board- certified anesthesiologist, fellowship trained chronic pain specialist, and reiki master. I had known that I was going to be a doctor since before I could read. I love practicing chronic pain medicine, however, I appreciate the various other branches of medicine such as Chinese, Ayurvedic and plant medicines practiced by indigenous people across the world. When I became trained in reiki healing, it was part of a personal journey in which I sought more alignment with how I practice medicine. I wished to consider not only the body, but the mind and spirit in my practice of medicine and healing. I was also on a journey to have agency over my life in a way that I could live as authentically as possible. I went through a transformation of mind and spirit to find my true intentions as a healer and to execute living the life I saw in my dreams. That meant that I found a way to use my unique gifts and talents to offer a wholistic approach to serve people.

How I can Help you.
Reiki healing is conceptualized as either a spiritual and/or energetic technique that is thought to modulate the autonomic nervous system and enhance the parasympathetic aspect of the ANS. This facilitates relaxation and allows for self- healing. Reiki practice will work on whatever the body, mind, and sprit needs. For example, if the blood pressure requires lowering, reiki healing will lower the blood pressure. If the mind is in a state of worry, reiki healing will ease your anxiety. If you feel stuck in life, reiki practice will facilitate your adoption of new ways of thinking that will help you to achieve your goals.

Advantages of reiki healing: no side effects, near immediate benefit, noninvasive, enhances mindfulness, treats pain, works on any problem or diagnosis, stress reduction.

Testimonials

Dr. Maclin was referred to me by a close friend. At the time I was going through a painful divorce and making a big career change as an emergency physician. Marissa was instantly relatable and I was shocked how calm and serene I felt after our first session. She also shared some jaw dropping information and helpful insights that helped me to not only heal but start to dream big and tap back into my intuition. I didn’t have much experience with Reiki but she walked me through the process and I’ve looked forward to our sessions ever since. I’m excited to participate in the additional services and learning opportunities Marissa plans to offer in the future. She is truly gifted and I feel honored to work with her. I admire her strength and courage in forging a new path in which helps professional women like me.

Working with Dr. Maclin has been life changing. She has a tranquil and confident demeanor, which I found stimulating, but also soothing as we navigated through areas of uncertainty in my life. She created a comfortable space where I felt safe being vulnerable and honest, and as result, I was able to clearly address and identify the core issues that were at play and holding me back in my professional and personal life. Her approach is unique in that I felt that I was being expertly guided along my path of professional and personal development rather than following a generic, one fits all plan. I finished her program feeling accomplished, confident, and with a toolset that will help me in the future.

My oncologists were astonished by the disappearance of the metastasis and original tumor size reduction. I am now in remission and believe the result to be a combination of medical treatment and reiki healing with Dr. Marissa.

I no longer experience the level of anxiety as I did before receiving reiki healing with Dr. Marissa! The more sessions I had led to less and less anxiety.

My menstrual cramps disappeared only after a 10- minute reiki healing session with Dr. Marissa. The pain did not return for 8 hours and when it did return the pain was less severe.
